Gifts are shared in many occasions. One great occasion is the Christmas season and the Thanksgiving season. This is where many people hit the gift stores and buy different kinds of designer wrapping paper. In the medieval times, gifts were exchanged just as they are but nowadays most people prefer to wrap their gifts. These papers come in different forms, shapes, sizes and colors. Gift papers that are associated with a certain season will even have artwork that reflects that season. For example, during the Christmas season, the wrappers that are out in the market will usually show a Santa Claus, a reindeer and so forth. Some designed for the July 4th independence day will usually depict fireworks and other bright colors. Some will even spot the country flag.
So what are the different uses you can use paper for wrapping? You can cut them out and use them as Christmas snowflakes. This requires some skill in using a pair of scissors and also some innovation. You can them add a tie and hang them on a Christmas tree. This is a common use and is done widely in the United States.
Another use is off course to use the paper for wrapping gifts. People love gifts and more so when the gifts are hidden in a wrapper. This is because the anticipation creates an element of surprise and the gift receiver holds his or her breath as they open the gift. Imagine when there children receive a gift and are so curious as to what is inside the wrapped box that the anticipation is unbearable. Then finally the time comes for the gift to be unwrapped and the child discovers its am item that they have been asking for a long time. No doubt many of us remember that feeling.
There are many little and innovative ways to manipulate the paper wrapper. One of the ways is to cut them and make hats for teddy bears and other toys. This also requires skill with the scissors and is mostly done by either the older siblings or the parents.
Designer Wrapping paper are important also because they protect the gift from damage especially if the gift is being mailed. While many people who exchange gifts are in the same households, sometime gifts have to be sent across continents. We see especially with people that have friends in other cities, states and even countries. Even the troops serving in places like Iraq have family members back home who ship gifts to them. The element of surprise is also preserved even when the gift is being mailed to someone across the continents. That aspect of us that wants to be surprised is still there regardless of how old we are.
We see that wrappers are very popular and practically inseparable to the gift-giving seasons. It can be noted that many retail stores now have a gift sections which contains boxes, containers, plastic bags, cards, wrappers, ribbons and even accessories such as scissors and tape.
